Benjamin Skepper is establishing Australia’s first permanent L-ISA studio: contrapuntal x L-Acoustics x Norwest

Following two sold-out immersive studio activation events, Into the Dark (July) and Corpus Novum (October), in Melbourne 2025, CX Magazine has profiled how contrapuntal studio deploys the L-Acoustics L-ISA spatial system to blend neoclassical composition, ritual performance art, and cutting edge sound design with its founder and musician Benjamin Skepper.

The studio, based in Fitzroy, is entering Phase II fundraising to install a permanent L-ISA rig in collaboration with L-Acoustics and Norwest.

contrapuntal will release Skepper’s next solo album, launch “Genetic Music” Sonic Wellness soundtracks, offer training and collaboration with engineers and artists in the new technology, and advance R&D initiatives through an international artist residency program.
