contrapuntal records is the independent label and publishing home of Benjamin Skepper’s work. Founded in Tokyo in 2008, it released his debut album Eika on vinyl when only a handful of pressing plants still worked the format, and today carries a catalogue spanning classical, electronic and interdisciplinary works.

Through contrapuntal publishing, we manage rights and licensing for Benjamin Skepper’s catalogue across classical, electronic and interdisciplinary works, with end-to-end clearance for film, television, galleries and brand partnerships.
Works can be recorded and mastered in stereo, binaural or immersive formats for high-fidelity listening, installation and playback.
Recording + Production
The label’s production work covers recording, sound design, speaker design and installation, and spatial and multichannel systems, in partnership with technology companies, artists and engineers.
