A TASTE OF THE SENSES
SERIES II
INTROSPECTION
APRIL 16-18 @ KUDAN HOUSE TOKYO

MEDIA RELEASE

Benjamin Skepper (Artist, Creative Director and founder contrapuntal), who has worked seamlessly in the international art, music and fashion scenes, will be holding a special three-day immersive Art Event at heritage listed Kudan House Tokyo, from April 16 to 18, 2021. Titled “A TASTE OF THE SENSES: Introspection”, this is the second in an ongoing series of exclusive art experiences developed by the artist. More than a year has passed since the pandemic revolutionised the way we live our lives, restricting our ability to socialise and travel. In response to this situation, Benjamin Skepper has stretched his wings of imagination and creativity, and invites you to a different kind of “Trip”, an emotional journey of the senses at the coveted members-only Kudan House.

On your journey, you will be presented three rare vintage champagnes from the Cuvée Louise 2004 collection by the distinguished Champagne Pommery, each complementing captivating artistic experience. Artists will escort you through each floor of KUDAN HOUSE as “sound, food, flowers and fragrance” inspire and titillate your senses. We hope you will join us for this special spring event in Tokyo, where you can enjoy exceptional bubbles, world class art, music, food and new encounters.

Registration: limited to 80 people per day, please register via PEATIX

ABOUT A TASTE OF THE SENSES

HARNESS THE TRANSFORMATIVE AND DISRUPTIVE POWER OF ART

The first series of A Taste of the Senses launched to a sell out audience in December 2020. Conceptually, each immersive art experience will be curated based on a specific theme driven by the intersection of art, science, culture and technology. Artists and creators will be invited to collaborate, experiment and develop new ideas, and to interrogate how each area collides and unites as unique creative manifestations. Each collaboration with Benjamin Skepper will be driven by sound.

Japan is a country full of exceptional creators and thinkers, and Benjamin Skepper will not only curate and produce these events, but also perform live at these events, to provide a new platform for, and provide higher visibility into, the kaleidoscopic and exploding Japanese creative universe, bridging Japan with the world.

ABOUT KUDAN HOUSE

3D WALKTHROUGH: http://art.kudan.house

Kudan House is a Spanish-style home built in 1927 and still stands today almost unchanged from its original design, blending a harmonious balance between Japanaese and Western style. The house was classified by the Japanese government as a Tangible Cultural Property in May 2018. The home was originally built for Mankichi Yamaguchi, a descendent of a samurai family from the Nagaoka Domain in Niigata prefecture. The four story mansion includes a Japanese style reception room, dance hall, roof terrace, and a large basement with living quarters for the live-in boiler serviceman. The house still includes some of the original furniture and décor, light fixtures, and coal boiler. Benjamin Skepper will herald a new era as its resident Art Director, producing bespoke immersive art experiences at this historical site.
